What is Scalping?
Scalping is a strategy that aims to profit from small price movements in stocks’ prices. Scalpers are traders who place a variety of trades per day, with the belief that small movements in stock prices are easier to spot than larger ones. Basics of Scalping
Scalping uses larger positions to achieve smaller price gains over a shorter time. It is done intraday. It is a quick way to purchase or sell shares at a bid–or-ask–price, and then quickly make a profit by selling them for a few cents more or less. Holding times can range from seconds to minutes to hours in some cases. The position must be closed by the close of the total market session. This can take up to 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
